Second class passenger

Have you ever being made to feel that you're not good enough to join a gathering?

Although the person who was being celebrated in that gathering was a person dear to you.

You were told that somehow your presence would make other guests feel uncomfortable. And the reason for that because the other guests did not know you.

"Tranquility, no... no not now okay. Bad boy. Go play fetch. You will be summoned only when you're needed."

***

Eleanor Roosevelt once said “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

Well Eleanor, I disagree. Not when that person meant something to me. Especially when the person who did that was the least likely person I expected to do such a thing. The person that I really care for. Otherwise, I would not give a bloody darn thing about it.

Yea. Been in that position in few occasions. It's when you are being invited but not wholeheartedly, merely just to fill up the quorum. At that moment of time, my 'yawning mode' save me from being feeling alienated...and I'll excuse myself the first few yawns.

It hurts, definitely, if the one who invite you is someone dear to you...or so you thought.

Dr T? You serious? Such inappropriate social behaviour? Yeah... at some point we all did that, but that was during PRIMARY SCHOOL! *rolls eyes*

Hey wait, perhaps the reverse was the case. This person probably knew that your presence would've made the other guests felt inferior instead; that you were too good for them! How's that for an attempt at positive thinking? Heh! ;)
